On Monday this week Pentagon took a team of willing volunteers over to Chestnut Tree House for a day of hard graft in their beautiful gardens.
Chestnut Tree House is a Sussex based children’s hospice who provide exceptional care for children and young adults with progressive life shortening conditions. The house offers a safe, welcoming environment for young people and their families and offer practical, social and spiritual support throughout each child’s life, however short it may be.
Since the start of the year, Pentagon have been raising funds for the house through various initiatives including a static bike ride, cake sale, sponsored run and much more. The team at Pentagon have really thrown their support behind Chestnut Tree and are delighted to be able to support this amazing charity.
The volunteering team was made up of Pentagon staff, Pinnacle Costs & Claims Solutions and the bosses wife! A sterling effort was made by everyone as they cleared the car park and woodland area of leaves, moved horse poop and helped with general tidying guided by the house gardeners. These kinds of initiatives mean that the children of the house can continue to use the beautiful grounds all year round and make it safe for visitors. After a very wet day of gardening we were treated to the biggest slice of cake ever which was very well received by all.
It doesn’t take much to give one day of your time, but your time means so much to those who benefit from it…….
