Friday night was an incredible evening of celebration for the plastics industry held at the prestigious Intercontinental London Park Lane.
Event organisers Crain Communications Global Polymer Group and Sustainable Plastics delivered a fabulous evening of fine dining, awards, and entertainment for all those attending.
This year Pentagon made the finals in two categories Apprentice or Trainee Award of the Year and Processor of the Year. Although not taking away the winner’s trophy on the evening, making it to the finals is true testament to our dedicated team and the ongoing success and growth of our UK manufacturing business.
Last winning at the Plastic Industry Awards 2021 it was a pleasure to be returning this year with some of our fantastic team, including Pentagon’s Trainee Mould Setter Youssef Hafid. Youssef joined the company in 2021 and has been a trailblazer for progress within our plastic injection moulding facility. Initially joining the business as a Production Operator, he was quickly identified as a tremendous asset to the Technical Setting team and has since been on a trajectory of bespoke training to become a Setter Technician himself. Working with the Polymer Training Centre Youssef has successfully completed Mould Mounting, Injection Moulding Technology 1 and 2 and is now undertaking his current professional qualification, Injection Moulding Technology 3. The team were rooting for Youssef on the evening for attainment of his accolade of ‘Trainee of the Year’ at the award ceremony however the award on this occasion went to Cody Etchells of Complexa HPE.
It is always an honour to be a part of these highly acclaimed awards evening and to join industry peers in recognising the amazing achievements within our industry sector and we are already looking forward to next years event.
